QUT foundry
Coworking Space

approach

Material selection was key in this project. The brief was for the space to be approachable, and to ensure that the young audience had a sense of belonging to the space. At the same time, the space was to present professionally and in keeping with the high quality of spaces that form the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), the aspirations of the people using the space, and the industry partners that attend events in the space.

Dark tones on the floor in contrast with blond timbers and colour accents give the space a young entrepreneur feel.

Results

Resilient materials, from walls and floor to kitchen surfaces mean high traffic areas are easy to maintain and present well at all times. Timber textures bring the variety of spaces together and add warmth to an otherwise very practical space.

“The result is a modern flexible space that looks just beautiful and feels great to work in”.
