The brief was for a sophisticated high-end service clinic with nurturing care for their patients. The waiting and reception area was to be the heart of the clinic, including areas for coffee and a kids play zone, and work as the filter between the common area and the private clinical areas at the rear. It was to be easy to find, welcoming, private but social, and to feel relaxed, luxurious and quiet.
The ceiling and lighting design focus on bringing a sense of calming care to patients.
Results
The proposal is a large sculptural acoustic ceiling with integrated dimmable lighting that gave the space a sense of shelter, care, warmth and comfort. The space's iconic ceiling is memorable and supports brand recognition. The ceiling brings both reception and waiting space together to give a sense of inclusion and approachability
